School Reviews

This school is horrible. They don't protect their students. Teachers are rude and unprofessional. The kids know they can get away with unacceptable behavior because the teachers and administration doesn't care. Unless you live in Lake Kiowa or have a Removed load of money good luck. If you try to defend or protect your child, they will make you the bad person. This school does a care about most of their students. If your child has a disability or has special needs, this is not the place for any child.

Good things about this school: very hands-on principal, he is always running around and his presence gives a good "vibe" to the school, facilities are nice, they readily invite parental involvement. Bad things about this school: it's in Woodbine instead of being in Callisburg as the middle school and high school are, which mean you get to drive back and forth across Hwy 82 every day if you actually live in Callisburg and have to take your kids to this school. The teachers all look miserable and burnt out, and they treat the kids as cattle to be herded and moved from one place to the next. One of the teachers my child had last year did a lot of damage that we had to spend the summer trying to undo. One of the kindergarten teachers is horrible and receives a plethora of complaints every year, yet she always comes back. So in short, the worst thing about this school is the teachers. For the most part, they seem to be intelligent, capable people, but they treat the kids so coldly that it's quite a turn-off. It's as if they go out of their way to make sure the students feel as insignificant as possible. So unfortunate!
