Coman Hill Elementary School is a great school. The previous Principal for the last 2 years was Mr. Finelli, he was wonderful and inspired students to learn. The new principal of Coman Hill is Mrs. Carol Fisher, she comes from the Eastchester School District. The school's teachers push for high academics. There are music, art and physical education offered. There are also extra-curricular activities taught after school such as Dance,Karate, Chess, Mad Science and Basketball. The facilities are modern, clean and safe. There is a high level of parent involvement at this school and within the Byram Hills School district.

The academic programs provided at Coman Hill are excellent. They focus on spelling words especially in first and second grades with weekly tests. They also emphasize reading and have children from Kindergarten through second grade hand in reading logs. The class trips are wonderful and the children are exposed to many great learning experiences. They offer Music, Art and Gym classes every week to all students at this school. They offer Project Create in second grade for children that excel, however, the children are chosen by certain teachers.
