School Reviews
5 9/7/2024
We left Irvine Unified in December 2022 because it was falling short of expectations for academic rigor. Our child was falling through the cracks academically at Irvine Unified as the emphasis was shifting away from academic rigor and shifting more toward social justice and activism. We were blessed to discover Irvine International Academy in 2022 and we started at the school in January 2023. IIA is, and has been, steadfast in its commitment to academic rigor while affording students an opportunity to learn Mandarin in an immersive environment. In addition, IIA remains focused on building a strong sense of community with families that attend. The teachers are great and consistently go above and beyond for our students and our families. The mindset of the staff is that every student is capable of achieving at a high level. The school invests in making sure the infrastructure and support are in place for students to achieve at high levels. The students are happy. Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged. The model IIA has established is effective as is evidenced by state test scores and academic achievements of the students that attend. I highly recommend IIA- especially for those seeking an alternative to local neighborhood public schools who have lost their way and whose test scores are on the decline.
