I had a great experience at the school. although there were some racial issues with a lot of the non-POC kids, I definitely focused on the bright side. I made lots of friends and some of the teachers really care about you. however, some do not care for you whatsoever.

My 8th grade granddaughter has become a much better and interested student since enrolling here. The academic programs offered are a great means to create and secure the interest of students. The opportunities given are specialized and the instructional approach is personal. Success can be met here. There just needs to have better discipline with respect among some of the students. It is quite concerning that over the last 3 months cafeteria fights have been increasing. Perhaps the school can improve communication (perhaps with punishment)with the students as well as parents to insure the safety of all students who are there wanting to achieve a higher understanding and education level. Its really difficult for even good students to focus well when theres too much negative and with alarming, possible dangerous situations. A good goal is working toward sensible academic achievement with maturity. Those who arent able or willing to participate with this theory should not have the option to continue their education at this school. Admission criteria might need changing. Time to get tough and exclude the proven troublemakers. This is, after all a magnet school which gives an awesome educational opportunity for excellence and progress. The counselors and staff are good people who will, I am sure, work toward a better and successful year!

Has been a good school until recent safety concerns by students. Due to a problem of kids being choked in restrooms by bullies/gang kids. Now the bathrooms are
on lockdown. This is a serious conern for the safety
of our children...ds
