If there were more stars, I would add them, this school deserves more than 5 stars! The principal, Ms. Francis, and staff are amazing at this school, and they are family oriented. My child graduated from here with high honors. The excellent school would recommend it. As for the guidance counselor, Ms. Trotman, she is the best of the best! Amazing school. EXCELLENT.

My favorite teacher is Mr. Conforte because he is kind and compassionate. My favorite guidance team staff is Mrs. Gendler because no matter what she kept it real with me. I enjoyed this school year because there were people who cared for me and people who were on the same level as me. I had challenges only because I made it challenging sometimes. I recommend this school because everyone will have an opportunity to equally understand each other and that will make the experience better.

This school is great because the school is not virtual and you can get new interactions and talk to others one thing I like most about the school is that they are rather safer than anything else. At the school, they check up on you once in a while. In this school, you do fun physical activities and learn things you never knew. We get to do fitness, yoga, soccer, flag rugby, volleyball, basketball, and badminton. During the school year, there is a student council in a part of the year you get to do some only student council access things and I get to go to 8th-grade graduation. also with the student council, you have to be a good person in the school and contribute to the school.

I love this school because the teachers are great, when you need help they help you, they teach you stuff so you can be something tomorrow. the teachers will make you have fun because they will always be there for you when you need help. every time I enter a classroom I come back out learning something new, it's like every day you learn something new. And that's why I love this school.

This school is great because they help you with everything you need help with. At the beginning of the school year, I was a new student and was scared because I didn't know how to speak English. But the teacher helped me out. As time went I knew English so well. And in my entire life, this is the first time I have learned a language in 10 months because I also speak French and it took all my life to learn it.

My thoughts on QUMS are: the academics are challenging but my teachers had a lot of patience and helped me learn. Also, the field trips are fabulous! A few days back we went to Holiday Hill with my family on a field trip. We went swimming, ate food, went to a concert and went for a walk in the woods. I can tell you that Queens United is the best school ever!

The staff members that have had a huge impact on my life here at Queens United are the Guidance Counselors Ms. Joseph & Ms. Trotman, Dean Pons, my Math teacher Ms. Lindsey, my Science teacher Ms. John, my Humanities teacher Ms. Harrison, my old Humanities teacher Ms. Wilber & my P.E. Mr. Ray. According to my parents and all of my teachers, I've always been a bright child but the teachers here have made me better. They push me harder than any other teacher has before because they know what I'm capable of. I know for a fact that I will walk out of this school smarter than I was before. Promise me when I tell you that this school is fun. One of my other deans, Dean Louis dances with us at lunch and it's quite a sight to see. That's most likely something you wouldn't find at another school. This school has offered me opportunities of a lifetime. I'm in an afterschool program called Specialized High Schools Admissions Test or SHSAT. It's an honor to be able to start studying for this test before I get to high school. Not a lot of schools offer this. You won't regret sending your child here. I promise.

I've been in this school since 6th grade, now I'm in 7th and about to go to 8th. Being in this school has taught me a lot. Of course, there are ups and downs, but after the few Down moments there were, there was always someone to talk to. The guidance counselor, the teachers, and the deans. This school has helped me emotionally, mentally, and physically. This school helped me improve my grades. No one was left behind. Here at QUMS, they treat you like family. From the SYNC Afterschool program to extra lesson programs. Thanks to my most appreciated teachers, Mr.Ray (Gym), Ms.Harrison, Ms.Mumford, the deans, Ms.Trotman, and Ms. Stevens I am at the great level I am at now. I've achieved a lot at this school, and I'm glad to be here.

If I could give this school more stars I would give it 100 because this school is such a great school to send your child to because there are nice and loving staff at the school that will accept every single one of your differences. This school has teachers that will help in any subject that you need help in to boost your grade. They also have many different activities that you can go into to help you prepare for different things like the Regents or the SHSAT test that you can take to get into a specialized high school. In this school, you will have everything that you need to thrive and achieve what you need. There is also a student council that helps our school every day in making different decisions and choices that are best for the school. This school also gives speeches and has its own motto AIR of Excellence. A: Accountability, I: Integrity, R: Respect. One day in school I showed integrity because I had found 20 dollars on the floor and gave it to our loving principal Ms. Francis and she announced it throughout the whole school and that is how serious they take their motto. My class also has an achievement that I would like to share and it is that my class and I scored 11 points higher in the whole city on the math state test and 9 points higher on the ELA state test. This school is the best school for people to go to and they also make sure that you are safe and I mean safe because they have masks in the office hand sanitizer in every room and we practice soft lockdowns every once in a while just in case of a hard lockdown. So I suggest this school as the best school that you could ever send your child or children to because this school has everything your child or children could ever need.

This school is an environment where the adults will try to push the students to achieve the most they can. Personally, my favorite adults have to include Ms. Stevens (Assistant Principal), Ms. Harrison (7th Grade Humanities Teacher), Dean Pons, as well as Ms. Mumford (Art Teacher) as well as a few others. Nonetheless, this school is filled with teachers who often care about the improvement and well-being of the scholars. I've been given teachers who will ensure that you will not leave not understanding a topic. My favorite accomplishment at this school is being chosen to take the SHSAT which is the Specialized High School Admissions Test. Certain people are chosen to take this test based on academic accomplishments as well as overall grades. This is one of the most challenging opportunities I've been given at this school, which also includes Delta Math where I am often given higher-level math to complete by a certain deadline. I don't always enjoy Delta Math, however, it challenges me to think at a higher level. All in all, this school continues to push me and I hope to always remember the lessons I've been taught at this school, both social and academic.

This school offers many great opportunities for students. I would like to give a special shout-out to the teachers that have made a big impact in my life: Ms.Harrison, Mr. Ray,,, and Ms.Mumford I' 'd also like to shout out other staff members that made a big impact on my QUMS experience: Ms. Joseph, Ms.Trotman,, and Ms.Stevens. I would thank my math teacher Ms.Lindsey and my ELA teacher Ms.Harrion; thanks to them my classmates and I have done better than the NYS average altogether with 11 points above the average for math and 9 points above the average for ELA. You even have a chance to get into a specialized high school because this school offered courses for me to have this opportunity. Overall this school is great and if you were to come to this school can help you achieve accomplishments you didn't even know you could have.

This school is an amazing school to me. I feel safe, loved, and appreciated. The staff at this school are so easy to talk to and they can feel like a trusted parent to you with all the love they give you. Some staff at this school that made an impact on my life positively are Ms.Harrison, Ms.Joseph, Ms.Trotman, Ms.Mumford, and Coach Ray. These people are the people I can come to easily if I have a problem and I appreciate them for that. I got many opportunities by coming to this school, one of my opportunities is the SHSAT program. The SHSAT program has opened a door for me to get into a specialized high school which is a big opportunity for me in the future. The teachers at this school are so amazing that on our state test we got over the NYC state test average and that is thanks to Ms.Lindsey and Ms.Harrison. Overall this school opens a lot of opportunities for the future and now.

Queens United Middle School is the epitome of excellence! We are a small school community, but we stand tall in all that we do. Our school''s vision is that every student will meet and exceed NYS core subject standards. We strive to make this a reality, so every action geared towards our students is intentional. As a result, we have students who are showing tremendous growth. Our data is there to prove that as a school, we have grown exponentially. Students are taking and passing the Regents and Specialized high school exams. This confirms that our students are being prepared successfully for the next level of their academic journey. I am proud to be a part of this group of excellent educators who are striving for the success of all students. Our outstanding administration goes beyond the call of duty to support the staff and students in meeting their desired goals. Our Parent Teacher''s Association work with fidelity to ensure each parent is informed about important events in our school. I am confident that this institution of excellence is where your child needs to be for the school year 2022-2023. He or she can benefit and grow in this atmosphere of excellence. I know that this is only the start of our journey, but I foresee that in the future we will have greater accomplishments. I am excited to see what lies ahead. Way to go QUMS!

I love this school because of its teachers, students, and education. First, my teacher, Mrs.Parkinson is a very educated teacher and helps when needed and Mr. Morel helps with every one of our problems and has big achievements for the students to pass onto the 8th grade. Third, Mrs. Pardo hopes that students learn everything they can and pass it on to the 8th or 7th grade. Fourth, Mrs. Raab teaches math and expects her students to learn from her lessons. and last, Mrs. Gendler has lots of patience for everyone in this school. Join our community.

I love this school because I can go to Ms. Stevens and Ms. Maxfield''s offices and talk to them about how my day is going they give me very good advice. Also, the afterschool program is good for kids that have moms or dads that can''t pick their children up. The people are very welcoming. I say go because you can make new friends and find your cup of tea. I'm a 7 grade and soon-to-be 8-grader. I learned a lot of things being in this school, which is being a good friend means not bringing people down because of their gender, age, or the way they look. I'm in class 702. We argue sometimes but at the end of the day, we are a big happy family. My favorite teachers are Ms. Stevens, Ms. Maxfield, Ms. Joseph, Ms. Clovey, Ms. Mumford, and Ms. Jones. My favorite memory was when I passed the second marking period and was able to celebrate with my school. It was challenging for me to find my cup of tea like my group but 10 months later I found my people. I really can say that those guys are my friends so if you're in elementary or middle school and you're trying to change schools, think of 289 Queens United Middle School to come to learn at.

This school is very supportive and they care about how the students feel. They also help push you to do your work. Going and talking to people in this school is also very helpful because it helps you become a better person and have different thoughts.
5 6/22/2022
This school is amazing. The teachers here are friendly and they are extremely helpful. We get offered multiple courses so that we can strive and be what we want to be. This school helped me both academically and socially by preparing me for the future. The staff of this school is very helpful and they look into helping us at all times. The students are a fun experience and they make the school even more fun. We get offered multiple programs like Specialized high school prep so that we can prepare for the SHSAT, or even test prep which helps us with preparing for the New York State Exam. My favorite moment was when we had an event for everyone who passed the marking period; we got nice food and we got to do fun activities. Some opportunities this school offers us are Khan Academy, the New York Regents, the Specialized high school test, and Myon or Delta math.

This school is pretty good in terms of education. The teachers here will keep pushing you until high grades are established, and they won't stop pressing you until you understand a certain concept/topic. They're also extremely caring for their students, and won't hesitate to check up on you if they suspect you're not well. This school is also the reason I passed my mathematics regents! Before I didn't understand what my practice tests were asking of me, but then I received extra help for them, and I ended up passing! The math teachers here have to be my favorites. Though, the other teachers are awesome, too! Especially the English ones. If you're looking to have a cool school year, I suggest you come to this school! The homework given here won't stress you out, and good grades aren't as much a bother to obtain!

This school has shown me how to think about others and how to respect others the way I'd like to be respected. The school is filled with amazing teachers who helped me throughout the years of being here; such as Ms.Clovey the best math teacher within this school she helped me understand better and to ask questions more. Another teacher who helped me improve myself more is the Ela/writing workshop teacher Mr. Conforte a teacher who I'd say helped improve my writing and the way I share my writing. Overall this school is filled with outstanding people who always want the best for you.
4 6/22/2022
In this school, many great teachers have been very nice and respectful towards me and other students as well. They have helped me grow to learn more and more about becoming a great person. They have also helped me achieve the goals of learning and passing subjects like math, science, or ELA. This school also has after-school activities that provide students opportunities to pursue their interests. Overall, this school has teachers who are very fun to be around and has very great opportunities of learning many things.

I''m a proud teacher at QUMS. I love coming to work everyday and love the people I work with. Our principal is a perfect balance of hard work and compassionate. She believes in our school and does everything she can to support everyone in achieving their goals. The staff are cheerful and hardworking. Everyone here is quick to share a smile and help out at a moment''s notice. I feel comfortable asking for help as well as offering it. My favorite part of teaching at QUMS is the supportive and loving nature of the school. I feel respected and appreciated by everyone and I strive to share those feelings with my students. Students here know that they have adults in their corner; adults who want them to not just succeed academically, but in life as well. We are helping to shape students into critical thinking and confident young adults.
5 6/22/2022
This school is very good because the teachers make sure you are comfortable in this school. This school helps kids with their problems and make sure that they are always happy; the teachers will make you have fun because they will always be there for you when you when you need help. For example, if you don''t understand any of your work, the teachers will finish the lesson and help you.
4 6/22/2022
There are many good things about this school. Teachers like Ms Clovey and Mr Conforte make this learning in this school easier even with tackling more difficult subjects and are some of the best I''ve ever had. Overall most teachers in this school have been earnestly trying their best to help students, even though some are less than excellent.

From the shift of faculty and administration, QUMS has become such a great educational institution for students wanting to start middle school. From the programs of SHSAT, offering Living Environment and Algebra I regents to 8th graders as a part of the school culture, students have become more engaged in learning. The expectations for students regarding their academics are noted from the calls, texts, and emails, to parents on how we can continue to support each other to make sure their child becomes successful. The goal of the school is that ALL STUDENTS WILL NOT ONLY MEET BUT EXCEED THE NEW YORK STATE STANDARDS and I as an educator can fully state that this goal is not an easy feat but is surely becoming a norm for the school. From the extracurricular activities in the after-school program, SONYC, to the engaging lessons within the classroom, students are always willing to learn and have become extremely motivated for knowledge. To keep up with the school community, faculty and students engage in school spirit week and that is the cutest and most cultural thing to occur for the school. Students also engage in an I-Ready assessment at the beginning of the year, the middle of the year, and the end of the year to track their growth and the DATA DOES NOT LIE! The growth and progress of these students will have your heart warmed and surely have a great impact on the students to even be able to visually see their growth. Throughout the hallways, students' work is on display on the bulletin boards and even inside the classrooms. Everywhere students are being recognized for their achievements throughout the school and who doesn't want that type of environment and culture for their child.

After working in the DOE for almost 20 years I can say QUMS is by far the best school I have ever has the privilege to work for. Students are cared for and given a quality education.
