School Reviews

2   5/9/2022
My child is currently enrolled in the PreK program for the 2021-2022 school year. Overall, this school has many teachers and faculty members that are there in the best interest of the children. My child has learned his ABCs''s, counting 1-20, and is working towards writing his name. Molly, the SLP, has done an amazing job in recognizing, developing, and implementing a plan to correct our child's atypical speech pattern. We are so grateful for her!! On the downside, we literally get no communication from his teacher regarding our child's performance. When trying to communicate with the teacher, we feel that she is overwhelmed and not prepared for her role as an educator. I am new to having a child in school but this lack of communication is discouraging. I expected to receive at least one letter or debriefing email from the week so that we know what our child is learning in school. Simply put, we don't need a babysitter for our child. My interest in PreK attendance was aimed at developing positive social interactions and a love for learning. I have brought up communication issues before to the principal, Shane Killinger, and there was a brief (approximately one month) improvement. The lack of follow-through has been disappointing to my husband and me. My advice for success in this school: advocate for your child.
