I came here to give this school 5 stars because I have never seen a school work so hard to make middle school kids do well academically and otherwise. My kid comes home most days happy and enthusiastic, unless he has a heavy load of homework which isn''t unreasonably often in my opinion. The assignments he gets are challenging enough and sometimes a little above what he can do, but he''s been getting better at it as the year goes on. The school is in a beautiful neighborhood with a nice campus. The kids aren''t using cell phones in school which is great. The number rating system leaves out so much important information about a school. There are hundreds of kids at this school who are doing great on the standardized tests. But, especially in middle school, when social and emotional development is so important, there is more to life than standardized tests, and this school does a great job with all those things like music, sportsmanship, holding high standards for behavior, making time for fun activities etc. There will be plenty of time to stress over tests in high school, and I know my kid will be ready when the time comes, just like his older sister who also went to Davidsen and is doing great in high school now and hopeful to go to the college of her choice.

Great school.....except most of the teachers are super boring and talk like robots. Although some of the teachers are super nice and make class interesting. School security is also really good, and even nice. I'm thankful their there. The music departments such as chorus, band, and orchestra are also really fun and educating :)

The new principal this year is responsive and has put some new policies into effect that must be working. This year the number of honor roll students has nearly doubled compared to last year. My 6th grader is happy and doing well in her classes. She enjoys band and is looking forward to adding dance to her schedule next year. Her teachers are effective for the most part and seem to give thoughtful assignments. The campus is fairly well maintained and easy to navigate.

I am a student here at DMS. I am in the smartest classes and I must say that about a quarter of my class is not in the right class. The band, and art programs here are great! They have very nice teachers! There are 5 sports we play.
1st 9 weeks: Basket Ball
2nd 9 weeks: Track
3rd 9 weeks: Soccer
4th 9 weeks: Girls:Volley ball, Boys: Flag Football
At the end of each 9 weeks (exept the last) every one who got straight A's on there report card (Conduct included) recieves a T-Shirt (New design each year & New color every 9 weeks), and a breakfast. Towards the end of the year there is an awards ceremony! If you got straight A's for the first 3 nine weeks, you get a trophy. If you recieved A's & B's you recieve a medal.
Over all I think this school would be a lot better if it was just for smart people or if they actually put the Smart people in smart classes, average people in average classes, and Not-so-smart people in Not-so-smart classes.
